Install - uninstall

Again, using a booked out space for an installation. Again, taking longer than expected, but with extra time I was able to consider placement of objects and relationships to space better than ever before.

Time spent trying various placing combinations.

Project Space Collaboration

One-day collaboration with 2 other students. Working with surface, light and form. Using found materials, recycling and finding the right things to construct the structure. Working with the physicality of actually making something, especially on a larger scale seemed appropriate for the combination of our individual styles and interests. I find working in partnership with others is a good way to challenge your own ways of practice and learn to make decisions which benefit the outcome as a whole, not just for one´s own sake.

Planning and trying

More chairs and things in the studio, making use of chance placings...

Discovering simple materials and shape combinations - door mat with board and board offcuts.

Drawing completed at the same time as the cut-out drawings - the idea of making shapes without some kind of darker border. There is usually the tendency to outline, to define - how about this being more subtle?

Using a wall of the studio to work out a more simple composition - does it work on a larger scale? How can this be translated in an even larger space?

Cut-out drawings

Example of a series of cut-out drawings/compositions.

Could form plans for installation but are pieces in their own right.
