Lecture

Today was the first lecture in the course ´Outsider Art´ by visiting artists Nina Fischer and Maroan el Sani.

Some interesting points relating to audience and how things are viewed, depending on your cultural, historical, social background etc. Most of the audience were Japanese and one question about a particular video shot in Japan was - what is the reaction about this video in other parts of the world? The artists explained how people in Europe usually react, which was exactly my reaction - ah....quite predictable, really.

Another example took ideas from an old French film ´Toute la mémoire du monde´, by Alain Resnais.

The last minute is especially good.

Into the city...

A selection of drinks you can buy on the street, most street corners seem to
have a vending machine...

A trip on the metro... it has NO litter...mostly intact soft green seats... a lot of advertising....

Walking through some side streets in Kyoto, these funny little friends were on display in the front window of someone´s house! Love!

Name!

Japan adventure begins!

A new studio work-space....

Arrival in Japan: Landing scarily close to the sea, over dark mountains and sprawling city view.
The last part of the journey was to Kyoto and through the city up to the north, next to the mountain to Seika University.
Overwhelmed with loads of information and new faces (friendly), a bicycle, keys, codes etc...
A trip to the canteen, a view of my studio and to the dorm to sleep....
Jet-lagged still...... today was a run in the heat and a temple visit in the afternoon, a trip to the supermarket... guessing the product is a dangerous game!
More soon!
